SAR: MORE THAN 60 YEARS’ HISTORY.
SAR emerged in the wake of France’s efforts to develop a national road network and has consistently supported and contributed to the surge in road markings across the country. As a leading force for introducing stringent certification and regulations, SAR has since built and reinforced its reputation as a benchmark through its ability to break new ground in addressing the latest developments in technology, safety and environmental issues, and fully satisfying its customers’ needs.
1964
Creation of SAR (Société d’Applications Routières) in Agnetz (northern France), specialising in manufacturing road markings.
1998
Launch of the first toluene-free solventborne paint, heralding a milestone in developing safer formulations for users.
2003
Launch of the first waterborne products as part of the company’s proactive environmental strategy.
2008
SAR joins VINCI Construction in a move that gives the company a stronger foothold in the industrial sector.
2010
Implementation of a life-cycle assessment (LCA) for all SAR products.
2013
Development of the first marking products certified as being free of titanium dioxide (Ti02).
2014
Certifications for paints with the Rapido curing accelerator for improving worksite productivity.
2022
Launch of low-temperature thermoplastics.
